Though I’ve been manifesting a relationship between him and Amelia Dimoldenberg since their Chicken Shop Date episode dropped last October, it seems like Andrew Garfield could have eyes for someone else. On February 20, Andrew was spotted at a performance of Jonathan Bailey’s play Richard II on the West End...and according to this fan video making the rounds on the internet, A Complete Unknown actress Monica Barbaro was right next to him in the audience.
The news even made its way to gossip account DeuxMoi, which is pretty telling, IMO.
“They’ve been really low-key and have been spending time together quietly,” a source told People the day after the sighting.
It would be one thing if this were the first time Andrew and Monica had been seen together—but it isn’t. Back in early January, the two actors posed for a photo while attending the W Magazine Best Performances party in L.A. Yes, Andrew’s bestie Eddie Redmayne and journalist Lynn Hirschberg were also in the pic, but Andrew and Monica do look pretty coupley, no?
A quick reminder: Andrew spent much of 2024 in a relationship with professional witch Dr. Kate Thomas, but by October 2024, Dr. Kate confirmed in the comment section of an IG post that she and Andrew had split “months ago.”
Monica, meanwhile, most recently sparked dating rumors with fellow actor Guy Burnet (per Just Jared, the two were photographed leaving a hotel together during Paris Fashion Week in September 2024), but nothing ever came of those rumors.
And as for Amelia’s current relationship status: The Chicken Shop Date host recently made it *very* clear that she’s single after romance rumors started circulating about her and Olivia Rodrigo’s producer ex-boyfriend, Adam Faze.
Anyhoo! More on Andrew and Monica as we have it. Perhaps we’ll get some official confirmation of their maybe-relationship on Oscars night??
